Some Quick Thoughts from Chris Sanders

Jumping for JWT

Originally, we hoped to shoot in LA after the last shoot but with recent rains the lakes dropped to 52 degrees. … This was a combination of stills and video, including some water footage with a 5D in a housing. P1010489.jpg P1010478.jpg P1010483.jpg

Tiamo Love

My family complains that I always disappear when it gets cold to the Caribbean or Los Angeles but you can’t shoot active outdoor lifestyle in Central Park at 20 degrees. … Tiamo Resorts has ten cottages on the beach in such a remote section of the island you can only get there by boat.

On the Set

It’s been a while since I have written here on what’s going on. It’s been a crazy and intense few months and I hope to catch up with you here. It seems like advertising has re-launched. I have been very busy shooting a number of projects. I don’t know whether it was the rush to [...]

Nivea/Labello Tearsheets

The Nivea/Labello Ads I shot in Barcelona are now in October publications. We were there a little less than a week shooting a variety of scenarios for this lip care line.

Shooting Beauty in Barcelona

There I was able to do a lot of very active shots and come up with more scenarios for the client…. Even as we were walking back to the vans, I took a quick shot of two of the girls playing “Queen of the Hammock.”

AAS: Casting in Barcelona for Beauty Client

We are casting in Barcelona and Paris for this beauty that shoot I am doing next week. The coordinating the casting is the legendary Dodo Varazi. I prefer to have models that can act to bring more emotion to my shoot. Here’s two movies of the casting of one of our models, Amanda. The first [...]

Dancing the night away

At one point the ACD, Nicholas Parslow figured there were 70 people on our set. I shot a combination of strobe and hot lights…. Also by shooting at a slow shutter speed I was able to pull in the club’s own lighting to capture some of it’s architectural details.

USPS Ad Shoot

I can’t show you the final shot but we shot at the Thom Bar with a main talent and several extras…. The background I use hot lights lke source fours and HMI’s to alow me to see the lighting as well as apply some blur if I want to.

AAS–Casting

The casting is being done by my long time casting director Stephanie Cohen (who also produces sometimes for me).(www) She casts in video for me because I like to see how well the talent can act…. After she completes her casting day, the shoot is upload to a website so that the AD and I can pick out selects.

AAS–Production

Stuart Hart of The New Cruelty is the crack producer on this job. He’s extremely detailed oriented and not beyond getting his hands dirty scouting and triple checking the location before we get there. Stuart has hired location scout Mark of Where’ bouts. Mark has culled his files to find us some locations based on [...]
